Open Platform Education

People who join Open Platform come from many different disciplines, backgrounds and interests. Participants are encouraged to reflect on their lives and ambitions while exploring the pressing issues that we all face in the decades ahead.  The programme is about learning, both inner and outer experiences.

The education side of Open Platform is a small part of learning and it concerns “the process of systematic training and development of the intellectual and moral faculties”. The subjects in this education are Schumacher’s philosophy and works, systems sciences, environment and sustainability, human rights, critical thinking and personal engagement with the world.  It is delivered through a series of workshops, lectures, articles and publications.
